Tibi F/W 2012: The Perfect Contradiction

Tibi’s minimalist chic aesthetic is carried well into its Fall/Winter 2012 collection; of course with a few eye catching pieces included that stamp why Tibi always draw the fashion crowd along with its core consumers every season.

Notably present and my personal favorite is the menswear inspired tailored tuxedo suit. Tibi’s F/W 2012 runway show was graced by this amazing cropped 3 button double-breasted suit ensemble, which stays true to the designer’s vision of fashion juxtaposition- a masculine piece tailored with feminine touches. Such a strong menswear piece, Tibi does a beautiful job translating for women without ever losing the impeccable tailoring.

Tibi delivered a multitude of wearable pieces that captures that cool chic city woman, from her business driven day, to a fun night out in the city; the bold colors against muted pieces are quintessential Tibi which season after season always give a sophisticated look a youthfulness that every woman looks for.

TIBI rocks the 90's

Amy Smilovic interprets the simplicity of the 90's era with sleek modern silhouettes for daytime, and rich gold, lace, and Rococo prints for evening wear. Damask gold jaquard dress both in a cocktail or longer length scream delicious. The combination of gold and black create such a decadent stunning ensemble worthy of any New York night scene, and rich hues of crimson red just add a touch of life to the usual drab fall color wheel. On the other end of the Tibi spectrum, one can't help notice the nod to the 90's "Grunge Era" but with a refined twist. I definitely appreciate the simple pallete of the 90's becuase it brings me back to my youth and carefree days. Clothing back then weren't cluttered with fringe and frills, it was COMFORTABLE!





















Other noteworthy pieces were defintely the black and white cropped tuxedo ensemble and the bomber jacket. The juxtaposition of masculine femininity is alluring, it's always eye catching when a beautiful woman wears a finely tailored piece; nothing is more attractive!
